|Aigues on the Costa Blanca in Spain has its name from the Valencian word for water. There is also a spa in the area with waters rich in minerals which is said to have medical qualities. The town Council in Aigues is about to transform the village into a thermal resort with thermal baths in the houses. The spa in Aigues has its origin from 1816 and was used by the aristocracy of the region. In 1936 the state took over the spa for treatment of children with tuberculosis. When the disease finely was defeated the spa in Aigues fell into disuse. The Moorish tower and the spa is the 2 most imortant land marks in Aigues.
