Calpe on the Costa Blanca in Spain features a beautiful coastline which is for kilometers around dominated by the huge Peñon de Ifach (Nature reserve from 1987)If you are in shape and do not suffer from vertigo it is highly recommended to hike to the top of the Peñon de Ifach. There are salt flats at the foot of Peñon de Ifach. These formerly Roman salt plants are now the habitat for birds like flamingoes. Calpe´s beach line consists of wide sandy beaches and small coves divided by cliffs. The most popular beaches are Arenal-Bol , La Fossa and La Calalga. Besides a wide range of bars and restaurants the beachfront offers all types of water sports activities like scuba diving, windsurfing, water-skiing and sailing in the Calpe Nautical Club. This place is due to its clear waters perfect for scuba diving. Trips to dive points from the Puerto Blanco diving center. Around the Peñon de Ifach you will see morayeels, sea cat, barracuda and octopus. Glass bottomed boat trips available if diving is not your thing!
