Gym and fitness on the Costa Blanca in Spain.

Bureaucracy in Spain

More and more gyms and fitness centres grow up on the Costa Blanca. Just a few years back it was difficult even to find an old fashion gym with weights only. Nowadays hi tech gyms are growing up all along the coast and it should not be difficult to find one that suit your needs. Be aware that prices vary and the most expensive ones not necessarily are the best. When choosing your gym check out on beforehand if they have what you want and have the classes that you are used to attend. Many gyms on the Costa Blanca now offer classes like aerobics and spinning several times a day.

Many of the fitness centres on the Costa Blanca now offers instructors who speaks English, but you may encounter that most of the classes will be held in Spanish. The machines and the music will be the same so you should not have any problems attending.

Most of the gyms are private businesses and the opening hours normally runs from 8 in the morning to 11 at night Monday through Friday. Saturday mornings only and Sunday closed. Membership rates range from 35 euros up to more than a 100 euros per month for the more fashionable ones.

There is a cheaper option and that is attending the gyms and classes run by the town hall. (You need to be a registered resident) This option often comes out less than a third price wise but the hours are limited to 2 or 3 times a week at evening or morning. Check out at the town hall in your town for further details.
