Torrevieja on the Costa Blanca in Spain is located just 35 kilometers south of the Alicante airport El Altet. This region of Costa Blanca features beautiful sandy beaches and the largest salt flats in Europe.

In Torrevieja you will find a large selection of international and Spanish restaurants. Torrevieja has a wide range of facilities which makes it a very popular destination for foreigners, a mere 2 and a half hour flight from England.

Torrevieja´s climate with more than 300 days of sunshine a year makes it a popular all year destination.

Its salt flats with 2 lagoons surrounding it are famous for being the home of some 250 different bird species. These lagoons have been designated as national parks and offer beautiful views including flamingos.From ancient Roman times the flats have been used for salt production and it still provide salt exportation today.

Torrevieja on the Costa Blanca in Spain features one of Spain’s best yacht clubs with berths for 1,500 boats. During Roman times Torrevieja used to be known for its outstanding port and the remains can still be seen at the tower of La Mata.

The Habaneras music festival held each year is a soulfull celebration brought to Torrevieja in the 19th century through Torreviejas connection with La Habana in Cuba.

The salt flats surrounding the town is home of more than 250 different bird species. Among these flamingos which gives the visitors a beautiful scenery.

The best way to start is to go down to the marina and watch the sun go down from a street cafe wile the fishermen bring ashore the days catch.

When it comes to food all tastes are cared for in Torrevieja. There is a well of restaurants serving food from all over the world as well as local restaurants serving typical plates from the area as fish and rice stews and other fresh fish plates.
